Shipping policy
Here's how shipping works for every Amopelle Co. order: what we cover, what you cover, and what happens if we get something wrong.
At a glance
| Where you are | Shipping to you | Return shipping |
|---|---|---|
| Contiguous US (lower 48) | Free on every order, exchanges included | Paid by you |
| Alaska and Hawaii | Discounted rate, shown at checkout | Paid by you |
| Outside the US | Paid by you | Paid by you |
| Our mistake, anywhere | Replacement shipped at our cost | Paid by us in the contiguous US; elsewhere we may ask you to keep it |
Within the contiguous United States
Shipping to you is always free, on every order. That includes exchanges: when you swap a belt for a different size or style, we ship the new one to you at no charge.
Return shipping is generally up to you. If you're sending something back for a return or an exchange, you cover the cost of getting it to us.
If something makes that hard, please contact us before you send anything. We'll work it out with you.
Alaska and Hawaii
Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii isn't free, but it is discounted. You'll see the rate at checkout. Return shipping is up to you.
Exchanges ship to you at the same discounted rate, so there may be a small balance to pay on the new belt. If the amount is small enough, we may just cover it ourselves.
Outside the United States
International orders pay for shipping both ways: to you, and back to us for any return or exchange.
Customs fees, duties and import taxes are set by your country and are the buyer's responsibility. We aren't responsible for them, but if you run into trouble with paperwork or a package held at customs, reach out and we'll do what we can to help.
If we got it wrong
If the mistake is ours, we'll make it right at no cost to you. That covers:
- the wrong size or the wrong belt
- a belt that arrived damaged
- a flaw in the leather, like poor grain, that we missed before it shipped
Every belt is checked by hand before it ships, but every so often something slips past us. If that happens, let us know.
- Contiguous US: we'll send you a replacement and pay for the return shipping on the original.
- Alaska, Hawaii and international: we'll ship you a replacement at our cost. Depending on what's wrong, we may ask you to keep the original instead of sending it back. Sometimes the shipping costs more than the part that's still good, like sending back a whole belt just to save the buckle when only the strap is flawed.
For international replacements, some of the import taxes you paid may be refundable. The rules vary by country, so if it comes up, we'll work through it with you.
We check every order, but we're especially careful with Alaska, Hawaii and international orders, because we know how much a mistake costs when it has to cross that distance.
